Eye Care Services In Southern Oregon

Our philosophy is The Golden Rule.

When you ask one of our physicians for advice, you will often hear, “This is what I would do if I were you.”

Dr. Rutar, Dr. Jarstad, and Dr. Spaulding have combined their expertise, dedication, and enthusiasm to build a medical practice providing superior vision care services.

Every patient is different; all eyes are unique. It is your physician’s responsibility to help you understand what your best options are — surgical or otherwise. You will never be pressured by a technician or other staff member to elect to have surgery or select a certain type of lens implant.

If you have been considering treatment elsewhere, come see us for a second opinion. We welcome the opportunity to provide you with information based on our expertise and experience.

Ophthalmologists are medical doctors who are specially trained and skilled in providing total eye care such as performing comprehensive vision exams, diagnosing eye diseases and disorders, and performing medical and surgical procedures. Dr Rutar specializes in correcting eye muscle disorders (misaligned eyes) in adults and children.

Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, or DOs, are fully licensed physicians who practice with an emphasis on a whole-person approach to treatment and care. Dr Spaulding is a glaucoma specialist trained in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS).

Our eye doctors each have a minimum of four years of specialized medical and surgical training beyond their medical degree, with special interests in cataract, glaucoma, pediatric and oculoplastic surgery.

Dr. Rutar, Dr. Jarstad, and Dr. Spaulding are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and have undergone rigorous training and education in their areas of specialization.

Justin Spaulding, DO is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He completed an ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and fellowship at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
