Loren Barrus, MD

A highly-skilled ophthalmologist, providing total eye care including diagnosis of eye diseases and treatment which can include surgical eye procedures.

Dr. Barrus is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist; his experience includes more than 30 years of serving the community with his physician/surgeon services. His work at the Institute includes well over 14,000 successful eye surgeries. In the community, he continues to donate his time and commitment with several civic organizations. He is an active lecturer on eye care and contributes to ophthalmology textbooks.

Dr Barrus recently preformed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. I would like to express my sincere thanks to you and your staff for the extraordinary experience i had. I was treated with courtesy and friendliness and found your facility most efficient.

Dr. Barrus has been a physician and surgeon at Cataract & Laser Institute since 1989. He has been the president since 1993. During that time he has performed well over 14,000 eye surgeries. These include cataract and lens-implant surgery with multi-focal and accommodating lenses.

Dr. Barrus has published and presented original research at national meetings. He has lectured extensively and made numerous contributions to ophthalmology textbooks.

His hobbies include water and snow skiing, fishing, and tennis. He served in the Boy Scouts of America and Cub Scouts for over 15 years. He also coached youth soccer and Pop Warner football for 12 years.
